Here's a long overdue tutorial x'D
I think that some knowledge of SAI is required for this technique xD

You'll need:
:bulletgreen: Paint Tool SAI / Easy Paint Tool SAI
:bulletgreen: A finished, clean lineart
:bulletgreen: A good amount of time to do it ...
:bulletgreen: PATIENCE LOL
:bulletgreen: A tablet?

I'm not a professional and I'm definitely not the best lol, but this is how I shade hair .. um sometimes. I have a bunch of different ways to shade hair //shot

Lineart -> Flat colours -> Gradient -> Shading -> Highlights

Here are examples of this type of shading:
